Declared as intangible cultural heritage, the charro bullfighting festivities of the villa take place during the month of February each year. They begin with the unique and emblematic bullring that is built and dismantled every year, known as "la Petatera." The bullring is constructed using materials such as wood, petate, and ixtle and regional processes that have more than one hundred and sixty years of tradition in Colima. During the festivities, there are daytime horseback rides, a bullfighting event called "toro de once," and carnitas tastings.
The Volcano Festival takes place in the months of April and May, bringing together internationally renowned artists, workshops, art and cultural exhibitions, academic and artistic competitions, theater performances, sports activities, and an area of amusement rides.
It is the most important wine event in the region as it brings together wineries from all over the country to offer wine tastings and palate experiences. Additionally, national and regional artists perform. During this significant event, young people from the region are called upon to compete for a prize called the "Young Award for Gastronomic Innovation." Sabora Fest takes place at the end of January and the beginning of February.
